[Pro] item position according to size of browser

hi

i’m trying to make the web page to have the items position flexible according to the size of the browser, so that they adjust without the rolling bar showing up.

i’ve figured how to make an image resizing using the Protaculous Action but i couldn’t make it work with other information like links and texts on the same page.

help please.

cheers

If you’ve followed along the recipe I posted yesterday, what you need
to do next is float some other layers above your 100% layer. Draw
another HTML box on your pasteboard somewhere, and then use the
Inspector to make it like this:

  • Position: fixed in window
  • Left: 0
  • Bottom: 0
  • Width: 100%
  • Height: 40px
  • Graphic Background: black, 30% opacity

Preview in a browser. You should see the darkened bar across the
bottom of your image, and resizing the window will keep it pinned to
the bottom of the screen.

I am sure you can work out how to do the same trick at the top of the
screen. If you double-click inside that new HTML box, you can add all
sorts of inline content, or if you click once on this box, and then
draw a new HTML or Graphic item over the top of it, the new item will
become a nested child of the bar, and should follow it around.

If you want to have say three things in that box which stay spaced
apart as the screen grows, you’ll have to do a little math and break
out the Extended dialog to add some custom styles, but it’s all do-able.

Sure. Let me know what you’re trying to accomplish, what you’re
already tried in Freeway, and what happened, and I will help you put a
bit more polish on the design.

what i was thinking was something like the menu/links or some information staying at the edges of the browser.

eg. Satria4D : Bandar Togel Singapore - Daftar Login Satria4D

i’ve done what you described here to see the possibilities, but i couldn’t make it work like on this link i posted.

I don’t have Flash installed, so that page is just blank. But checking in Chrome, which includes its own version of Flash, I see nothing but a black screen there as well. Any other examples you can point to?

sorry about that man.

here is another example:

and

these two don’t get any info hidden when the window is small or when they get very large they distribute the links and resizes the image on the page.

hi walter…

sorry about the last question. i think now i got my head round the explanation “If you double-click inside that new HTML box, you can add all sorts of inline content, or if you click once on this box, and then draw a new HTML or Graphic item over the top of it”.

it seems simple but if you don’t do one thing right it doesn’t work at all. Now i got the links following the edges of the browser according to the size of it.

one more lesson learnt today. thanks very much!!
