I`m testing the 3 x 33% approach now.
I have been able to make a 3 column setup with the 1st one with fixed width, 2nd and 3rd one in a group set with fixed left alignment and a percentage width.
This however makes 3 columns that not always use the full width of the page, but with a shrinked page I am left with the 1st and 3rd column, and the middle (2nd) text column gone, as the 3rd column has a right alignment and a fixed width.
