I don’t mean Freeway, although I am still working at getting RWD right using V7.0.4. I mean that for one viewer, in Australia, the home page displays text in Greek rather than English. The Greek text is much more beautiful (I will frame a screenshot for my office wall) but not very useful for my mostly English speaking viewers. How can this be prevented?
Since posting the question I have looked at it in Windows XP IE 8 on an old computer from the closet and I see the Greek text. I am taking the page down until I get it resolved.
Thanks DD, and I know about the wide-screen problem, I’ll be working on it.
How can I control this? My “old” pages were created in Fwy Pro V5.5 and automatically ended up Western ISO 8859. The new page was created in Fwy Pro V7.0.4 and is Unicode UTF8. Where is the setting for this?
It is recommended that you do NOT use Symbol font in Web Pages - unless you use font embedding techniques as the Character mapping on older Windows machines is not the same.
Page encoding is set under the 3rd Tab in the Page Inspector - but that is NOT your issue.
You’re probably right: “I think your problem is the Font-Family Symbol”
I am using TheBand template but I changed the text from Righteous to Symbol. (I like Symbol better!)
The problem is with all text on the index page but that’s the only page made with V7 & Symbol text. I will work on it, but thanks for setting me in the right direction.
Thanks Richard: After ten years of Fwy 4 to 5.5, I am now trying to do an RWD website using V7. I am using TheBand template as a base and changing it for my needs - probably changing too much. Right now only my index page is online, other pages are from V5.5. The page displays okay at 1024x768 & 1280x1024 but is bad for both larger & smaller sizes. I haven’t spent any time on those sizes but maybe you can point me at what I need to do.
