Hi all, and a Happy New Year to everyone (a bit late but I’ve only just gone back to work!)
Here’s my query, I have a floating layered item positioned with the Layer Positioning Action. This is used to get you back to the top of the page if the page is long. The pages are made up on the fly by php and a database, so if the page is long then clicking on this will take you back to the top where the menus are. This all works fine in Safari and Firefox both on the Mac and PC, but on Internet Explorer it doesn’t flow, and is stuck in the position where it was first drawn.
Links below to screenshots: First two in Vista with IE7
The first 2 (Vista IE7) also show a problem with the CSS Menu action in that each submenu has extra space above each of the menu items, but it is fixed in Windows 7 IE8. All the links are made using the PHP Text Link with Query (hundreds of them!)
Has any one any suggestions as to how to get the layer positioning to work.
Here is a link to the developement site (almost live, just got to sort this out…)
No takers on this?
Still have a problem with Internet Explorer and the Layer Position
Action. Just out of interest can you position a layered item in the
browser window so that it will always be near the bottom of the
window. Internet Explorer doesn’t want to play ball! I have the IE6/
IE7 Compatibility checked in the Document set-up.
Any idea why this doesn’t work in IE?
The site is about to go “live” but I can’t really put it up with these
couple of problems still not solved (see below).
Thanks in anticipation
Regades
Steve.

Just a suggestion, but after a quick look it appears the “a” tag
position property has a value of static. Instead create a link style
for that one particular link then set the position property to, fixed
and then define l-r and t-b to place it where you want.
