I have read MANY of the topics related to layers but guess this is either way deep in thel ist of just not posted, so if it has been answered already I am sorry.
Ok, so I have built my site in layers, LOTS of it… On my Mac everything shows fine, safari, depends on the day, and on ANY windows machine, ANY version of IE/FF nothing is layered.
For example, the main page of my site shows my name (top layer) over a slideshopro slideshow. On my Mac its beautiful and has shadowing etc. I have even tried the Safari user agents, but no matter what I choose it shows the same way.
So anyone have any ideas on how to make this show, WITH layers to everyone??
This is not a Layers thing - this is a Flash thing.
Flash content is delivered via a Plug-In and as a result tends to push its way to the top so that often it will appear on top of any other content on your page.
Enabling wmode:transparent (for the Flash stuff) can help but there is no 100% guaranteed way of getting other content to appear to float over Flash.
Design with that limitation in mind to guarantee your look.
Well that is great to know (still new to design) I wonder though, why on a Mac it works under the layers but not on a pc, even a pc running the same version of safari?
