[Pro] Limit for Spawn New Window

Hello — Is there a limit to the number of Spawn New Window links… I started a page and tested that the action worked on links to 10 graphics, then went ahead adding other individuals image links and when I finished, the action would not work as it had before… There are 54 seperate images (lakes & peaks) that are used by the action… I do not have anything to show as I have been working it piecemeal and do not have the expertise to publish off the side, so to speak as I have seen in this forum… Any help would be appreciated… Thanks Mark z

I don’t think there are any limits on this Action except for overall page size (those hidden images need to live somewhere, and they take time to download even if they aren’t initially visible).

The page is 2.5mg with 73 files… I attempted to balance quality against size… Is that too large… z

Ok, looks like it works when all of the images are within the same html item… I had a new 6 images per line and I noticed that only the top item was responding correctly… Once I placed the images within the same html item, then it worked… Does that sound right ???

The Action doesn’t impose any limits like you’re assuming. What might be happening is that another (transparent) element is silently covering your click target, and absorbing the click. It can be difficult to tell when one thing overlaps another, because Freeway might not draw a visible outline around the resulting HTML box. You may draw a graphic box on the page and apply a link to it using this Action, but Freeway has to create an HTML structure to hold it at that particular part of the page. Get enough of these together on a page, and you may end up with what you are experiencing here. Putting all of the elements inside a single container forces Freeway to write a much simpler layout for your page, and since no two things may overlap one another (without fancy hocus-pocus with z-index and negative offsets) when they are in-flow siblings within a common container, you get just about zero chance that one will overlap another and steal its clicks.

Thank you Walter. Some very interesting insight into how freeway works and I will put that into my memory bank. I have just about reconstructed the page and all seems to be going well. Once again, thanks for the information and time you take to help others out. It is greatly appreciated… z
