I am creating a simple site in Pro. My navigational links are a horizontal row of html boxes with text in each box (“home”, “gallery”, “about”, etc.). I have gone to the links section in the inspector panel to set colors for my links in each state (normal, hover, visited, etc.), but when I test my site in preview or browser the links will not change colors at all other than the normal state. Cursor changes from arrow to hand when I hover over a link and navigation works perfectly, but I can’t get any color change in different states no matter what I do in the inspector. Must be a simple explanation but I haven’t found it.
You may find this easier to do if you use the CSS Menu action - it was designed for just this scenario.
Use unstyled text in the menu item and use the Menu action interface to set your link states/colours, backgrounds etc.
As far as what you have already it would be a lot easier to diagnose if the page was online and you could post a link to it.
FW allows you to set link styling on several different levels ie Page level, per item etc. - you may have inadvertently set conflicting states that is why I suggest starting afresh the the CSS Menu action.
Thank you Thomas & David for responding and with the right advice. Thomas, I studied your page and watched the Freeway video tutorial on creating navigation with the CSS menu action. I followed the instructions and now my navigational links behave beautifully! Very grateful.
