I think that there is anyway something goofy with the “links” and how they set (without any doubt I may fail). The first is “client” separated from the rest, some dividers seem to be included, others not.
In the first step, I’d remove the current links to “no links”. The next would be to proper relink to “Client Log-in”, “Client Log-in2”, “Client Log-in3”
The second step to do is to remove all applied styles from the former set links by choosing them again, inspector 3rd tab. (even if they now fall back to Times or whatever) and tick the little minus beneath the style(s).
The third (which is the basic one) is to decide what kind of link it should be: Page or Item. Delete if doubled the not wanted one and see if the wanted one is still applied.
Preview this and see if it works now (what it should).
Go back to the links and apply the preferred Font (if it changed to an unwanted one). Tipp:
create a proper “p” style which in fact includes the basic Font, Color, Size … So you do not have to style anything further.
Hope that there is some helpful stuff in (but this is the “standard in case of emergency scenario” I do in such cases).
Hi- now 2 years on from this but I’m having the same problem as Peter, and am totally mystified by the fact that the links are working on my page, but when publishing in the browser the active and hover colours don’t work.
I’m putting these in the Page appearance section. Tried it on the Master page as well as the actual pages, but no luck on either.
Can someone help? It’s really confusing for a newbie. I don’t understand the reply above at all about removing the text styles, why would that help? Surely they can’t be connected? If I remove the text style it’s a bunch of work to put them all back in.
Can you post a link to your page? We can’t tell what’s happening on your site without inspecting it in a browser. Also, if you have set a different color for new and visited on your links, you may have already seen the page, and thus won’t see any difference on your browser. The visited thing relies on your browser “deciding” whether it has seen a page before.

Hi Waltd,
I’m so new to this, it might take me a while to work out how to publish my site! I only started today
I’ll let you know as soon as I have and post the link.
I cleared the history on Firefox, thanks for reminding me, and some of my links are working and others aren’t, so I will see if I can see what’s different.
