[Pro] Lists

This has bugged me for a while. On a bulleted list, where the text runs onto 2 lines or more - is there a way of aligning the overflow text to the text above as opposed to aligning with the bullet?

I have always set the secondary line position using the indent options under paragraph… but if you change the text size in the browser window it loses it’s alignment. Is there a way to maintain it’s original integrity when this happens?

Cheers for your help

You’ll get the behaviour you’re after if you select the text you want
to be a list, then use the ‘List’ pane of the Inspector, clicking the
indent arrow to ‘make it a list’. Or you can use the ‘Style>List’ menu
to the same effect.

That’s what I do at the moment… however if the indent is 10px and then the user enlarges or decreases the text in the browser window. The space between the bullet and text changes accordingly, but the indent for overflowed text remains at 10px, which throws out the alignment. Is there any way of keeping this aligned?

I’ve just tried a quick one and I’m not seeing what you’re seeing;
it’s working here just the way you want. I notice that in your
previous mail you said:

… and that might have something to do with it. Don’t set any indent
at all, as the act of making it a list gives it a default indent. Just
type a line, hit Return, type another line, until you have your list
content, then select the lot, and hit the ‘right-pointing’ arrow in
the ‘List’ bit of the Inspector.

Cheers Paul… yup it me!! It’s entirely to do with creating indents. As soon as I created the list without indents it all aligned perfectly, including increasing the size in the browser window etc etc! I guess I have been far too long working as a print designer… things work a tad differently on web!

Cheers again buddy
