[Pro] Locking a CSS layer causes Overflow warnings

Hi, I have a site that Previews and Uploads fine. However, there is a CSS menu that if I make any change to seems to break. I just noticed that if I even try to “lock” the layer I get “Overflow” warnings for the contents of the layer. I don’t even touch the actual layer- just highlight it’s item in on a Master Page and click “lock”.

Does anyone know what’s going on? I also can’t set a background different from my sites without breaking this CSS menu. It works perfectly as long as I don’t make any changes.

The site is here for testing: http://homepage.mac.com/riccohn/

Thanks for any help!

Richard, are you using a fixed size container for your menu? If so,
and especially if you have inadvertently made an extra return or two
at the end of your text, you may have a text overflow (too much text
for the box). If you click on the little height icon in the Inspector
(Dimensions: middle row on right) this will allow the height of the
box to change automatically. You will see that the middle two grab
handles on your container turn to red when you do this.

That’s a non-toe techie’s thought, anyway.

Thanks Colin! That sent me in the right direction. Once the CSS box resized and went over some image layers I realized that I needed to bring the CSS layer to the top of the stack and make it a layer. Now the CSS box can go over the image layers without breaking.

I appreciate the help!
