Is it possible to make an image map link, using the ‘map area’ command in Freeway Pro, to a PDF? I’m putting a magazine cover on a page, and would like to have PDF links to each contributor. Or is there any other way of doing this in Freeway?

Not 100% sure what you are trying to do here but yes you can link a map area to any file by creating a hyperlink (on a map area, text or an image) and edit the hyperlink to point to your pdf on the server ie
Then you can use an action like Upload Stuff to get the pdf(s) to your server if you dont want to FTP them there.
This is really helpful. I’ll have a go at it tomorrow; in the meantime, I’ve come up with a solution which may be okay in this instance. If you go here:
you’ll see what I wanted to do – put area links over some of the names on the cover graphic, so that clicking on the name opened a PDF of their work in the issue. But my current solution seems okay too.
Your post was really helpful. Tried to find your website, but my guess didn’t work.
Mouse over the the text in your picture and you should find two areas
that will give a link to some garbage pdfs.
This was done by pasting your page picture into a graphic rectangle.
( I screen captured your picture with SnapZ Pro X )
Then a new, empty graphic rectangle was placed over the text on your
background picture.
Then in the inspector uncheck the" combine graphics" box for this new
graphic
Then attach the action: Item → Actions → Graphic Link to PDF to
this new graphic
Then select the PDF you want to use in the actions window.
Freeway will now auto upload the PDF’s for you
The final result appears to be an image map area but it is not

Both these work fine – many thanks. The second solution lets Freeway do the uploading, so you don’t have to FTP anything separately, but apart from that there’s nothing between them.
