I looked at that, but it’s actually a little more complicated than that.
The page and the background have multiple colors. There, say. four strips of color that run horizontally across the page at different widths. The middle part (the page that’s shadowed) has these colors also, but they are offset a little from the background.
I’m searching for an example.
So far I just have the design in a PDF from InDesign.
I had a quick look on it and to give you maybe further assistance, I think it’s necessary to have a few more infos:
What shall happen if “Maincontent” have different lenght on different pages? Shall the white stripe (with the pets) grow in its height aswell and shall the yellow and purple stripes pushed down with this growing content?
Shall the purple and yellow (and white stripes) stretch all across the page?
You might guess the reason for the questions?
If 1-2 yes, it smells like “inline construction” if no:
What shall happen then left/and right end?
Not as an advice, but things like these could need the help of a pixelmator (whatever sort of ), cause shadow like this I sometimes throw into a basic pagewide container (if I do not boxmodel what I do in 99,9%). But if we need a more flexible basic construction … hmmm, it could be a pain.
I’m in the middle of working something up now. I understand all your questions, but the designer (Who happens to be my business partner and girlfriend!) isn’t quite sure how she wants the page to flow, yet. I’ve asked her!
Yes, the shadowing didn’t work at all in Freeway. I’ve done 90% of the work in Photoshop and am about to putting it together.
