[Pro] Menu URL Issue

Each of my menu items links to a unique page. I can see this in Freeway on the bottom where you choose links. After uploading, however, every link just goes to the home page.

I had this happen one other time a few weeks ago and solved it by unchecking the Submit box for an item where I accidentally clicked it. I don’t have that situation now so I think that was maybe a red herring and that there’s a bug somewhere.

Thoughts?

Because you are using graphic text all the images have combined into 1 and the link is applied to the whole image.

Try unchecking Combine images - or use Html text

Thanks David, but that’s not the issue. I’ve develop 100+ sites in this manner without issue.

Just to be sure, I followed your advice to not combine images, but the result is the same.

I don’t want to use HTML because I want to stick with the font I want (and again, this hasn’t been a problem until now).

Any other ideas?

After re-looking at this page I can see that the correct links are there - just not attached to the actual “text”

If you click either side of one the text items the links do work.

How are you actually applying the links - to selected text or another method?

I would remove all current links until there are none and then reselect the text (and only the text) and reapply them.

Check that you don’t have two links in the same string of text.

You rock! I assigned a link to the image AND to the text inside and because I copied the initial menu item when creating the others and didn’t change the link to the text inside, I had 2 links for each image.

THANK YOU!

This is your annual warning. Even though Freeway makes it possible, NEVER, EVER add links on graphic text by selecting the graphic text characters themselves and applying the link. Always select the graphic box (so its corner handles appear) and apply the link to the entire box. When you add a link to selected graphic text, Freeway creates a torturous image map outlining all of the shapes of the text characters themselves, even leaving holes where the counters (empty spaces in “hollow” characters" where the link will not work. This is not only maddening to look at in the code, it also makes the browser work way too hard.
