[Pro] Need a simple polling script

I was wondering if you can recommend a software or scripts for a my website:
I want to create a page that takes polls from visitors and allows them to see the results on a percentage model.

Example: Are poll really effective?

Yes, very effective
No, not effective
Depends on the subject

Hi Richard

I use this free service by MicroPoll for polls on this site
http://www.orionoptics.co.uk/websurvey.html
and it works very well. You can customise it a fair bit.

Think it might be what you need.
Hope this helps.

Hello Trev.

Thanks for the info, I actually located MicroPoll last night looking for scripts. Is it free? Second, how do I get the script into Freeway Pro 5?

Any info would greatly be appreciated.

Thanks again,

Hi Richard

Yes it is free and very easy to get going. Just sign up and you can start right away. You will just fill in Question Text and give the answer ie: yes and no or a selection of answers yes, no, perhaps, maybe etc. Customise the look of the poll, colours etc. to match your site, you can see a preview before you proceed - very handy! There are options there for how the Poll and results are viewed - see the little + icons at the botom the the panel - take a bit of time to experiment and it will look good!

The Poll code is then generated for you (it is at the top of the page - make sure you copy it all (ctrl+A) as it is in a single line field, and you simply paste this code into Freeway. To do this simply go to “Insert” “Markup Item” and paste the code into the HTML Markup pane. You might have to tweek the size of the holding box on your page ie. my poll width is 300 pix so I just make the box on the page the same. Preview and you should see the Poll. Upload to your server as normal.

As you see in my page in the previous post I have three Different Polls on the same page. On my page the viewer sees the poll once, votes then the stats are displayed. Try it yourself.

Hope this is of some use.

No problem Richard

As a matter of interest, I just came across this link

to a similar FREE poll system you might want to have a look at to compare - now you have a choice!

Trev, thank you a million times over, polldaddy worked just fine, can I ask more than one question in a poll box?

I have been very busy and this week I launch a micro newspaper dealing with the news and spirituality, rather volatile stuff but nevertheless, its what I do and much of my work has been in Jerusalem. Now the literal paper hits the streets this week.

Freeway Pro has been a wonderful learning experience, thanks to the kind of support people like you are willing to give.

Hi Richard

Sorry - think as this is a free service - you can only ask one question per poll.
If you remember that’s why I have 3 on on page (question each) that’s on MicroPoll - I havn’t had time to look closely at the polldaddy one - just found that site by accident.

I’m no expert Richard - still learning every day but yes, the people on here are fantastic with the help they can share - when we need it most.

Kind Regards from Northern Ireland - Trev
