OK, I’ve tried making an accordion effect, and it’s not working.
First I downloaded an accordion action and tried to make it work (many times) and it didn’t work.
Then I was advised that I need Freeway Pro to make accordions work. So I plunked down the cash and upgraded. And I tried many more times to make the accordion work, following lots of advice that I got on this site and from the accordion action developer. I still couldn’t make it work.
At this point, it seems like Freeway Pro and I are not getting along well at all. I’m ready to bite the bullet and pay somebody to do it for me. (If requests for paid help are not allowed on this forum, I apologize for this post.)
Where/how do I find somebody who can add the accordion effect to two pages on the site that I am developing?
I’m using ScriptyAccordion. I haven’t loaded the page onto a site. I don’t have a place to load it to (yet).
I’ve seen examples of ScriptyAccordion working. They only serve to frustrate me, because I can’t get it to work for me.
The impression I have is that I didn’t structure my web site correctly from the beginning to be compatible with SA, and to make it work I would have to rebuild the site from scratch, structuring everything correctly the 2nd time around. I don’t really want to do that, and I’m pretty sure I wouldn’t know all the things I’d have to do differently the 2nd time around to make it work.
At this point, I’ve spent way more time on this than is reasonable. I just need to get this web site done.

Unlikely
Follow my instructions on a new blank page and see how you get on.

Why not? Web hosting is cheap and you really need some server space for proper testing - doesn’t have to be its final destination.
You often get free space with your Service Provider and there are free offerings out there - if you dont mind the ads. But do not use a free service to host a proper site.
If I try to make an accordion on a new blank page, I can’t get it to work. It seem like I need to use text formatting called h3 and p for the headers and the body of the text in the accordion. But I can’t find text formatting with that name.
Thanks for your offer of assistance, but I went through all of this in September and was not able to get it to work.

These are standard styles and they are listed in the Styles palette. Look under the Window Menu and open Styles and Colors - you may have to click on the First Tab ‘Ay’ to show them listed.
Every suggestion that you’re making are suggestions that I tried in September.
You’re welcome to visit. I’m in Cardiff - but probably not the Cardiff you’re thinking of. I’m in Cardiff-by-the-Sea, in southern California. We’re still enjoying beach weather - great environment for writing CSS code (which I can’t do, but maybe you can.)
Clint, the sources of error are most likely simple.
Are you really ad the h3 to the header text style and the p to the show/hide text style as in Dave’s example?
It seems to me that perhaps the error is in how you style the text.
Alternative you can create first your own h3 and p style in the style sheet (menu / edit / style sheet … are these the right English labelings in FW?), perhaps you use different colours and sizes. Give them unique names.
After that style your header and text: Select the text, see the inspector palette, click the round grey button with the T and see the text style at the bottom, use the + or – to choose / delete the style you need or need not. Be careful not to give text more than one style.
h3 and p don’t exist from the available styles when I start from scratch.
When I create new styles called h3 and p, and then apply them to the text, the accordion doesn’t work.
At this point, I’ve spent too much time on this. I can’t afford to keep taking time away from my work to struggle with Freeway Pro. I think I need to find somebody who I can send the web site files to and have them implement the accordion function.
I was hoping that Freeway would let me develop the web site on my own, but I’ve hit a brick wall with the accordion effect. I’ll bite the bullet and pay somebody to do it for me.

h3 and p styles are part of the standard style set if you create a New FW doc and use the Blank Website Template from the General section of the Template Chooser.
Did you download my example? Did it work for you?
You can copy the Accordion container from that document and paste it into yours and the styles will go along with it.
Alternatively if you want to email me you will get my contact info on my People Page at FWT
Then you must have altered your copy of Freeway from its defaults. Close all other documents in Freeway, open a new, blank document (no template) and look in the Styles palette. You will see exactly this:
Thanks again for your efforts to help. At this point, the time I have taken away from my work to try to implement an accordion has cost me more than it probably would have cost just to pay somebody to do the accordion for me. I can’t afford to spend any more time on this.
I’m going to try to find somebody who can just get it done for me.
