[Pro] Need help on Carousel before I cry

Although I have successful Carousel actions on two other pages on my site, for some reason I CANNOT make it work on this new page. The pane that should be below the rollovers doesn’t even show up. I’ve gone back and forth between this page and two other pages (portfolio and services) to see if I could find the fatal flaw, but I just can’t. I’ve spent hours trying to find the fatal flaw. Can someone help?

(To my knowledge, I’m now using all the latest Carousel actions.)

The link isn’t being set properly on your first book cover, it’s currently set to null. Check the Carousel Tab Action to be sure that it has properly selected the first pane of your Carousel. The carousel code appears to be properly written, but it’s not visible on screen for some reason. It seems to be off-screen at the bottom of the page. Could you try forcing the page to be taller by drawing an empty HTML box below it on the page? Also make sure that your page height is set tall enough in the Page Inspector to encompass all of the elements on your page.

I think I resolved the “null” problem on my first book cover so that it doesn’t vanish when clicked. But the carousel pane – my intro text that should be visible below those images stubbornly refuses to show itself, no matter what I do. I’ve added an empty HTML box at the bottom. The individual panes that should replace the intro text are in the cork board area. I just can’t figure out why this won’t play nice.

I just realized that the action no longer works properly on my other two pages, either. (I had downloaded the updates for Carousel yesterday morning.) Arrows work to move material, but not rollover images. Huh.

I’m still in the dark and until I can resolve this, I have an embarrassingly dumb page on my website. Please, can someone help me with this? Walter’s suggestions have not worked so far and other than updating the action I just can’t understand what I’ve done differently than when I previously used this action.

Again, here is the page in question: laurabelgrave.com

Please? This is my own dinky website, but I’m afraid this will impact a carousel page on my main client page as soon as I do a new upload to it. That would be pretty disastrous for me.

Please try these steps. Open a new Freeway document next to this one. Switch back to the trouble document, select just this page in the Site list (by clicking on its name so it is highlighted) and copy. Next, move to the new document and paste. The entire page and all of its Actions should come along for the ride. Close the original, and publish the new document into a different site folder. See if the problem travels with the page. If not, then try deleting the problem page from the original document and copy/paste the page back from the test document. If the problem does travel, then Zip the document and send it to me privately. (Click on my name to find the many contact methods possible, if you’re looking at this on the Web, or just Control-click my name in the From header of your mail application and choose Reply to Sender… from the contextual menu.)

Thanks, Walter. This will take me a little while, but I’ll give it a shot and report back as soon as possible.

Walter, I have sent you the zipped document. It didn’t work for me in that newly-generated Freeway site, either.

Walter is a god. Here’s what he advised me to do after looking at my document. I followed through and voila! It worked. Should you run into the same problem, write this down!

From Walter:

All Carousel elements (main Carousel and Panes) must be fixed-dimension. Your Carousel and two of your Panes are set to indeterminate height (flexible height) so the resulting carousel element collapses to 0px tall and is effectively invisible. If you didn’t do this deliberately, the way that it is done in Freeway is to click on the up/down arrow icon left of the height field in the Inspector, which grays it out and removes the height rule from the element’s style attribute.
