[Pro] Nicer scroll bars, please.

Can anyone please tell me if there are anyway to create or use more stylized scroll bars in FW 5 Pro… default versions are very bulky and unattractive. Maybe there is an action available?
Thanks.

Hi Cory,
Styling the scroll bars of the browser itself is restricted to only a
few browsers. Internet Explorer lets you do it (IE Scroll Bar Style Generator
) as well as Safari (http://webkit.org/blog/363/styling-scrollbars/).
Unfortunately there aren’t any actions to automate the process at
present.
You can make your own scrolling content using the Scroll Layer actions;

Regards,
Tim.

Tim,
Sorry, I mean the scroll bars within an html text box within Freeway, not the browser. Would that be using the Scroll Layers action file?
Thanks, Cory

Hi Cory,
Either of the first two links will work for overflowed content in a
text box (layer) where the browser will draw one of it’s own scroll
bars. I’d suggest using the Scroll Layers action so you can be sure
what the user will see regardless of the browser they use.
Regards,
Tim.

Tim,
Just a quick observation… seems to scroll button .zip file that is posted at actionsforge.com is not correct. It’s links to the scroll layers file, so you can only download 2 of the 3 files needed.
Thanks, Cory

Cory,

Check these threads:
http://www.freewaytalk.net/thread/view/15863 http://www.freewaytalk.net/thread/view/30155

Both methods use external javascripts to make this work, although Walt’s use of Protaculous is something that is supplied with Freeway Pro 5.

There is no “action” per say that does this unfortunately.
