I’m trying to send out a test email before I use a service such as Mail Chimp. I’ve followed the tutorial on Softpress’s site (http://www.softpress.com/kb/questions/409/Create+Email+Action) which is fine, until I get to the section that tells me to view the page in Safari, and select ‘File>Mail Contents of This Page.’ to get it into Mail. I’m using Safari 7.0.2 and that option is no longer there (at least I can’t see it).
I can manually select all on the page and copy into a mail client such as Apple mail, but the grey email background does not appear, and the page is not ranged left.
How I get that page into a mail client complete with background colour, to send out as a test?
Yep, that’s the intention at this stage for a visual. When its all finalised, the design will become a full HTML email. In the meantime, I’m simply using a png in a table, with some HTML text under it.
I’ve done a few HTML emails in the past simply using FW’s File/New/Blank Email, following the Softpress tutorial and action, then using ‘mail contents of this page’ in Safari to get it into Mail. Sometimes the newsletters are complex table based layouts, other times they’re simply a single image centred on a coloured background. This example will eventually be constructed using using HTML text and separate images, but at the moment thats not my issue, the main problem I have is that I can’t reliably get the email to appear in correctly when sent.

…
Many thanks.
Neil.
The ‘Mail contents of this page’ in Safari has moved. It’s now under the ‘Share’ button on Safari’s toolbar (little box with an arrow coming out of it). Choose ‘Email This Page’ and a new mail should open. Mail (not Safari) offers the choice of whether to send just a link or the actual page - it’s a discreet little selector on the right below the ‘From’ field.
