[Pro] On line ordering

Hi All

Could someone tell me how hard/easy is it to integrate a Freeway site into a online ordering system/till in a take away restaurant.

Has anyone ever done this type of site with this in.

Have a look at http://www.phpjabbers.com/php-scripts.php - they have many scripts for just this sort of thing.

Their support is First Class and all their scripts are relatively easy to integrate into FW.

Hi David

I know of the phpjabbers script but the customer is getting one of these all singing, all dancing touch screen tills that he wants linked to his website - he’s getting 3 of them. 2 for takeing over the counter orders and 1 which will take the ‘online orders’ in other words ‘Click & Collect’.

I’m not sure if the phpjabbers script will intergrate with a till. May ask them the same question. Thanks for your reply.

No - probably not. Till systems are a whole different kettle of fish.

I think if you are looking for that sort of functionality then if the till people dont offer it as an option then you will be looking at big bucks. Not sure about the logic of having 1 integrated system if the cost is excessive to do it.

There are probably good reasons why on-line and in-person should be separate.

I would be asking the till people first as phpjabbers would need to know all about the till system before they could offer an informed answer.

Hi David

That’s my feelings as well. The owner is telling me that ‘on line’ ordering is the way to go. May be for some food outlets but not for a fish & chip outlet.

Got to have meeting with the owner and I’ll take it from there.

I think I would suggest that he surveys his customers and gets feedback as to whether they would use an on-line system before he invests any money in it.

My local F&C outlet (like many) offers a tel ordering option so that special requests can be handled without extra wait time in the shop (and also for deliveries) but they don’t take payments.
