[Pro] Page Length

I have pages that need to change in length each time I update. Is there a simple way to have an expanding page length? The footer at the bottom of my screen disappears every time I adjust the length.

How do you have your site built? Drag and drop or box model? If you have a drag and drop set up you will have to manually adjust the pages IF they differ in length from the original Master page. If you have a box model style setup then the page will adjust based off the amount of content on the page.

Also, if you’re using FW 5.5+ the Relative Page Layout action will help you adjust your layout into a flexible box-model.

I’m just using the “Radar” template that comes with Freeway. Not familiar with the term box model…what does it mean?

I’ve tried the Relative Page Layout action but didn’t see any change.

I have a footer at the bottom of the page, and every time I adjust the page length to add more text it disappears…not sure why.

The footer might be underneath the block of text you have lengthened. Have a look in the side panel and bring it to the top of the stack, then drag it down the page to where you want it position and the RPL action will do the rest when you publish.

Also, the footer on that template is set to be 0px from the bottom of the page (so it always stays at the bottom). You can just drag it back up into position when you change the length of the page, or change it so it’s positioned from the top of the page by clicking the Top Inset button in the Inspector palette: Skitch | Evernote

Hope this helps,

Joe
