[Pro] Page Plan Diagram

When I used to use GoLive, it had a feature where you could lay out your pages to see how the site all worked together. You can make a diagram and see where your links were and the site hierarchy.

Is there a way to do this in Freeway or is there another (hopefully free) option?

Thanks.

In your FW layout view at the top of the page there are several tabs under the Toolset

These are Master | Page | Preview | Link Map

Click on the Link Map one to see how each page interacts with others

OK, but is there a way to layout the pages before you make the site? Sort of plan out the hierarchy before you build pages.

I use a large sheet of paper and post-it notes.

Others may just draw diagrams on the piece of paper.

Whatever suits you best.

Hmm…paper…what is this “paper” you speak of…

Yeah, I can always do that. This particular site we are redoing has TONS of useless pages that we need to condense.

Thanks…

Paper is my favorite method too. Fast and tactile.

I’m partial to restaurant napkins for my pre-planning. I started drawing thumbnail layouts and page organizations on napkins while having lunch back in art school and never outgrew it.

Of course, by the time I have to show something to a client, I’ve graduated to a more “professional” medium :stuck_out_tongue:

I use 3 x 5 index cards and a FAT marker. Spread them out on the floor
and shuffle them around. The wisdom of the fat marker comes when you
realize you cannot put more than two or three words on each card, so
you have to be brief – just like your visitor’s attention span.
