[Pro] Pages moving

Hello,

I am new to Freeway and still developing a site. I have set my pages to Center, but they don’t always stay in the same place. When the main image on display in vertical, the page in central; when the image changes to horizontal, the whole page jumps slightly to the left.

Some of the Gallery pages have Freeway slideshows and this jumping still occurs. Where the slideshow is a Photoshop gif file, this does not happen.

The whole ‘Photoshop’ page also jumps to the left, then back again when one of the other main sections is displayed.

Anyone any ideas?

Yours,

Welcome to Freeway, Duncan.

The main reason for the ‘jumping to the left’ is when your page
length exceeds the depth of the browser window. Look at the those
pages and you will see a scroll bar appear. on the right which pushes
the page to the left.

Go through your web site and see if you can adjust your page lengths
and you will probably solve the problem.

Duncan, I don’t see it happening on any of the galleries?

This is an old chestnut: it’s because the page is longer and a
scrollbar appears. Everyone accepts it, nothing to be done, don’t
worry about it :slight_smile:

Sounds like some pages have enough vertical content to require a
scrollbar and some don’t. The only fix is to make all your pages
shorter or longer, so that the scroll bar never or always appears.

I found this css code which makes it seem like there is a scrollbar always there. Might not be everyone’s cup of tea, but it stops the page jumping when you switch between short and long pages.

html {
overflow-y: scroll;
