[Pro] parentID is not defined with B.A.M

As the title says, I’m getting the message “parentID is not defined” with the B.A.M action in Freeway 6.08.

Spent ages trying to get my head round why - embarrassingly I’ve used the action in a previous site just fine.

Thanks

In the example you’ve posted it’s because you haven’t applied the CSS menu action to your list

Thank you Simon - sorry for wasting your time, schoolboy error. I’ve pulled that example page out of the site I’m having a bigger issue with, regarding the BAM action.

I can’t get the BAM action to display it’s ‘area’ (called BAM1 in my Freeway doc), as it should. I can get the action working fine if I create from fresh in a new FW document, but as soon as I create it within my current buid (by either recreating it or pasting it in from the working example) it stops working.

The ‘area’ that should display when you roll over does not appear. The site I’m incorporating it into is my first fully inline construction build, so assuming this is to blame somehow.

Freeway file is below, go to the ‘Access Control’ page for a rough example

Really appreciate your help with this.

Neil.

Hi All,

Sorry to push (really don’t like to ask again) but I need to see a client tomorrow regarding my visual so would really appreciate any solutions people may have.

I’ve tried for around two hours now to get this to work. No matter what I do the BAM area is not displaying. It’s working when I try it out of my site (in a new document) but refuses to play ball when used inline.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks.

Hi Neil,
This isn’t an issue with the BAM Action as I can see that the CSS Menus also fail when the BAM Action is removed from the page.
The issue is that you’ve inserted the Google web fonts code in the wrong location. You’ve placed it in Before and it should really live in the head so Before . Move the markup to the right location and you’ll find that the menus and BAM item work as expected.
Regards,
Tim.

A THOUSAND THANK YOU’S Tim! How daft of me. Glad it was something so simple and not a side effect of my inline construction.

I can at least show this at the meeting now!

Thanks Tim, lifesaver
