I have several PHP Feedback forms working with no problems, however on this site is is proving a challenge, I had it working perfectly on the test server , but now i have moved to the live server it no longer works.

When i submit the form it downloads it to my Mac…

Any ideas please

John

PS I hope this is not another one of my simple to solve issues…

Well your form itself works - even thought the Submit button is hidden from view.

Does this server actually support PHP?

Your spelling needs some work! Occassions, buffett

David,

Thank You.

I hadn’t noticed that i had an “overflow” on that element and strangely it always worked on Chrome and another user had no issue either… what browser are you using please?

David,

To answer your Q about support of PHP,

Yes this hosting company has another site that i built and it also uses a PHP feedback form with no issues what so ever, the only difference between this site and the other one which is working is this is set to XHTML 1.0 Transitional, which i was advised to do when setting up an inline site, the other is HTML 4.01 Transitional.

Thanks

Panic over…

When the user set up this service originally , they specified no PHP, in my ignorance i thought that would have been a no brainer as a basic requirement and did not consider it as a possible cause…

anyway we are up and running thanks.

did not consider it as a possible cause…

It is very common for the ‘cheaper’ hosting companies not to include certain, what we would deem as basic/essential, services like this.

It is worth having a little plain text file which contains only the following

<?php
phpinfo();
?>

Give it an obscure name like trrtsgurgffu.php, stick it on the server and visit with your Browser.

You will then see (if PHP is enabled) your current PHP configuration.

Dont leave it up there as someone finding it could use the info it contains to compromise your server.
