Does this action top out at 11 images? I got to 11 and couldn’t enter any more.
Thanks,
Doty

Huh. Must have been made by Nigel Tufnel.

Hi Doty
One use of the Lightbox action does appear to have a limit on the number of images you can use.
To get around this create a very small transparent graphic, say 5px by 5px, and apply the Lightbox action to it. This can be done anywhere on your page as it will be invisible to the site visitor. Give this new instance the same group name as your first instance and add the other images you require. These images will then added to the initial group and make it look as though you had a grouping of more than 11 images in the first instance. This can be repeated as required.
All the best

Thanks for the heads up David. I’ve got an email into my ISP. Bad timing for sure!
But, I spoke with my client today and if I can’t make the pic to lightbox action auto advance I don’t think it will work for this project. (I’m away from my computer but I dont think that’s an option). I’m really struggling to find a lightbox slideshow that will do what I need.

Okay, website’s back up! It’s puzzling, there were over 1700 hits on the homepage yesterday. My ISP is wondering about a Denial of Services attack. The IP address suggests my client’s hometown, but 1700 hits in one day? Little excessive, no?
Anyway, bandwidth has been increased and problem averted for now!
Thanks.

pic to lightbox action auto advance
You mean once the visitor clicks on an image to open the lightbox you then want all the images to display sequentially in the lightbox.

Yes David. My client wants the images to automatically advance to the next one without needing to push next or use the arrow keys. Does that make sense?

That looks great. But I have a question. Do you need to have all the thumbnails visible in the document in order for this to work? I want several images to cycle after only triggering the first. Just like the current pic to lightbox, but with the addition of the auto advance. Make sense?
How did you do this???

Visit the example again http://www.deltadesign.co/fw_examples/fwactions/lightbox-slideshow.html
This is built in FW with the addition of some extra scripting and CSS and uses Extended attributes to add other bits and bobs. Several files (including your large lightbox images) require to be FTP’d to your server.
It certainly isn’t as easy as using an action so if you are not comfortable about getting under the hood then it is not for you.

David,
This looks to be exactly what I need! I want a “cover image” where the user can click on it and then several others will be visible via the lightbox. Your example is precisely what I’m looking for.
I guess the question is how deep “under the hood” would I need to crawl? Would you be willing to send me your FW file or otherwise tell me how you made this creation?
Thanks!

If you would like to send me your images (at the size you want them to appear in the lightbox) I will put together a FW page for you to play with and some instructions.
You will get my email in the People section - if you dont have it already.

Hello David,
what you show in your link http://www.deltadesign.co/fw_examples/fwactions/lightbox-slideshow.html is really what I would like to use for my pictures.
I’m not afraid of getting under the hood, although I don’t know much about that…
If I send you, like Doty, some pictures with the right size, would you like to send me the example too?
Or maybe a tutorial, over here ?
Thanks !
