[Pro] positioning text and images

First thing that pops into my mind is: 'She’s probably not working with an inline layout, but rather with a drag-and-drop layout. Perhaps this could be a starting point (that is … if you can spare the time):

  • Learn working with inline construction (also called ‘box-model-layout’); I’ve got (a copy of) a manual that’s no longer separately available from the Softpress website concerning working with box-model layout’s available here. This should make you able to learn this way of working with responsible and predictable layouts pretty easy …
  • Start working with master pages. All pages derived from a master will start out the same (as the master)
  • Use your style editor to create styles and apply them appropriately. Don’t just style text as you go along, you will end up with tons of styles you don’t need and are hard to ‘edit’ afterwards.
  • A couple of months ago I responded on a thread here, which lead to me creating this template (download the freeway file here). Perhaps this is something you could take a look at? It’s not what you’re looking for, but you can see the way it’s been set up: just one master and a set of styles. That’s what makes the layout ‘predictable’ (and in this case also responsive).
