What do you want these buttons to control? If you want to move from page to page, there is an Action called Link to Page (build into the application) which will help you create links from one page to the next in your document. It uses the sort order of pages in your Site palette (which you can drag and drop) to determine which page is Next and which is Previous for any given page.
Be aware, however, that this Action will cause any page on which it appears to always re-publish (every time you publish the document), even if there are no changes made to that page. For pages which have large linked files, this means your movies or PDFs will upload every time and make you wait.

No. Draw a graphic box on the page (just for this example) and while it is selected, look in Item / Actions from the main menu. Look for Link to Page in that list of options. It will apply to the graphic, and then you look in the Actions palette (which you can show from the View menu if it isn’t currently visible) you will see the interface where you may choose which page (previous, next) you want to link to. There is a similar Action for text links, which you apply by inserting the action-item at a text cursor. The interface is nearly the same, except in the text form, you have to enter the link text you wish to appear within the Actions palette also.
Hope this makes sense.

Thank you Walter. I installed the action and it worked.
I’m applying the action in 2 graphic boxes with text previous/next. But i’m still having a small problem: i’m applying a background color, (a graphic box with color) and the previous/next boxes are over this color box. In this case my action doesn’t work, I have to delete the graphic color box so it works… I don’t understand…
Hope you have an answer…

Make sure that your boxes (the one you sent to back as a faux background and your button) are both defined as a Layer in the Inspector. The issue you are having is probably because if they aren’t layers, they will be coalesced into a single merged image.

Hi Walter,
I wanted te do the same thing, but I can’t seem to find that action. When I look at Menu->Element->Freeway Actions, while the box is selected, the only option that remotely seems like it is Link (to) New Window, which gives you the option to link to a very specific page, not the next one that is in your folder/Site palette. What am I overlooking?

You are absolutely correct. Link To Page used to be a core “bundled” Action, and I don’t see it in the latest Freeway. Have a look on ActionsForge, and if you don’t see it there, write to Softpress support(a)softpress.com and ask them to add it there.
