[Pro] Pro 6.1.2 Squishes my designs in preview

Hello! Running Pro 6.1.2 on OS10.10.2.

When designing pages, every looks good in Freeway Pro. When I preview in Safari, my text and images are squished vertically and overlapping. What is causing this?

I have design half a dozen site with this program and have never had this issue. I can’t find the problem. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks!

Can you post a link to your pages online and we can have a look.

Otherwise we can only guess.

Do you have anything online for us to look at?

A link to a live example would be nice. Saves us the guessing what’s going on and enables us to actually give some valid feedback.

Can I post a link of a screenshot? I don’t want my current website to come down from hosting until this new one is ready.

Here is a screen shot of Freeway Preview in Safari.

You can but it is unlikely to tell us anything meaningful.

What we really need to see is a live web page so that we can read the underlying code.

Why not create a new folder on the server ie ‘testfolder’ and set the upload path of your new FW doc into that ie

Server: www.marionmodelrailroadclub.org/

Directory: /public_html/testfolder/

Or whatever your server/directory paths are.

That way you can preview your site online without over writing the existing site.

After having a quick look at the existing site which seems to use Gif text almost exclusively you have moved on to using FW with the CSS button on and Html text.

Before with gif text everything was a graphic so nothing interacted with anything else.

Now with layered items and html text the game has changed.

Different Browsers and OS will render html text at different sizes depending on a user’s preferences.

Layered items (created with CSS button on) are independent of other layered items on the page. If the text in 1 box is displayed larger than you expected then its container will expand and overlap other containers. Allow for ‘wriggle’ room. Set your text in px sizes - or better style use FW’s RPL action.

But if you want to go down the best route then design your site using an inline method so that items that expand will push others down the page and not overlap.

These are general tips until we can get a look at the underlying code of your site.
