[Pro] Problem: Twitter-generated button

Happy holidays to everyone, wherever you are.

I am attempting to use the “Follow @___” code generator at Twitter, which is located here: https://twitter.com/about/resources/buttons#follow

I have done this type of thing before. Into an HTML box in Freeway Pro (latest version, btw), I enter a “Markup Item…” and into that I paste the code from the generator. Been there; done that.

That’s what I’m doing for the Twitter generator, but it isn’t producing the graphic.

Can anyone suggest what I might be doing wrong because I’m pushing the limits of my knowledge.

Many thanks,
Jeff

Thank you very much for trying, but that didn’t seem to change anything.

I pasted your code into a page and it rendered as expected. Are you certain FW isn’t adding anything unwanted?

The only problem I’m seeing so far is with Safari 5 (Mac), I’m getting nothing. FF, Chrome, Camino are all fine. I’m also seeing this error:

“uncaught exception: Error: Permission denied for http://platform.twitter.com to get property Proxy.InstallTrigger”

though I don’t know if this is the cause of Safari’s problem.

This is all very helpful, and I will test further. Many thanks.

Well, this is an interesting conclusion.

I had been testing this locally … in other words just opening a page from Freeway Pro in a browser. For me, it failed on Safari, Firefox and Chrome (all on Mac; hadn’t moved on to Windows yet).

But when I upload the page, voila!, it works. So apparently the page has to be uploaded for it to properly see the Twitter resources necessary to render the custom button.

Someone much more knowledgeable than I will have to explain why this is the case.

Again, many thanks for your help.

And, Todd, how well does Freeway Pro run on a Commodore 64?

About as well as a G3 (surprisingly), though with less style.

My tests were done locally (not with FW) and it worked fine.

Strange. Will accept success in whatever form it arrives.
