[Pro] Problem with allegedly missing files

hi,

I’m trying to tidy up and archive the files for a site that I maintain, as the overall folder structure seems to be a bit of a mess.

When I try to archive the site, I get a message saying that 3 specific files are missing - even though they _are present in the Media folder.

Resolve Resources before Save Archive

RESOURCE CANNOT BE FOUND.

The following resources cannot be found. The preview image will be used instead (output quality may be lower).

The file Macintosh HD:Users:davidestevens:Sites:eyemusic2012:Media:bgRepeat.jpg for this graphic cannot be found.

The file Macintosh HD:Users:davidestevens:Sites:eyemusic2012:Media:bgRepeat.jpg for this graphic cannot be found.

etc

Again - if I look inside the Media folder in the path above, all 3 supposedly missing files are there.
I then found that I was getting a similar problem with trying to Publish the site, so I went through each page of the site and reloaded the problematical graphics, thinking that perhaps the links had somehow become broken, by selecting the relevant elements of the page and then going to
Inspector/
HTML Item/Appearance Settings/
Background/Image/ Select…

and reloading the graphics. I then previewed each page. Some pages previewed straight away, some complained that Publish Site couldn’t be completed (i wasn’t asking to publish the whole site, so I’m not sure why i got this particular message) - but those pages previewed ok on a 2nd attempt.
I then saved the site, ran Publish Site… to be on the safe side and tried the Archive command again. But I’m still getting the same error messages.

Any ideas about what’s gone wrong and how to fix it?

thanks

David

Have you used Edit>Resources which will list all your Resources and their status.

You then have options to select a missing graphic and use the Edit button (bottom right) to Resample, Update or Locate - I suggest you want to use Locate.

Brillant!

Thanks David, that’s just what i needed, and a really useful function to know about. (I know - RTFM - but it’s a bit much to chew on to run one site!)
