Hi David,

As Walt suggested, our servers, Hosting Provider had set the DirectoryIndex attribute in the httpd.conf file to allow only index.html. We changed it to allow both index html and index.php.

Thanks again for your input.

Best regards,

Roy

Sure - but what about adding the code via Page>Html markup

I take it the white space was irrelevant?

Hi Dave,

Yes, the white space between the <php “Session Code”> and the was relevant even with the File set at index.php in the Inspector.

As you suggested I used Page>HTML Markup to insert the Session Code at the top of page and this code was viewable in a browser, but the Page Name at the top of the browser window did not show anything other that .php (the Pages’ file name was missing). Not what I want for obvious reasons.

In the end, I used the Page>HTML Markup to add a new “second” immediately after the Session Code with no space (and this seemed to do the trick. Now the page names show at the top of the browser window.

Then once our our servers’, Hosting Provider reset the DirectoryIndex attribute in the httpd.conf file to allow both index html and index.php everything appears to be working properly.

Best regards,

Roy

He had what? What’s the purpose of that? Seems to be that host is just a cowboy running a web service on the side for the occasional extra buck … what an amateur.

I suggest that you run your page(s) through a validator service such as at http://validator.w3.org/

To clarify, Walt suggested that our server’s Host Providers had incorrectly set the DirectoryIndex attribute in the httpd.conf file. Why, I have no idea.

Our servers are hosted by InMotion Hosting and they are pretty big. Their technical support has been getting worse every year though. We just switched over from their shared business hosting to VPS hosting and we have had way too many technical problems.

Thanks David,

I still have a lot of work to do to set up the various links, but will take your suggestion to use the validator once I have finished.
