[Pro] Resampling makes my images look worse!

I have placed images, used the various controls for padding, centering etc. Then I read that resampling the image would be a good idea. It didn’t work out that way for me. Made them look worse.

Is there a secret to using the inspector and imaging sampling, formatting I am missing?

To be totally honest; don’t do it. Just import your images passthrough.

Photoshop’s ‘Save for web’ feature does it’s work more that perfect, and even then, processing your images through ImageOptim app does remove the last useless bits and pieces and gives you nice clean and lightweight images.

This is (just) my humble opinion.

By the way … you will have to ‘crop’ the images up front when importing them passthrough, but for me this way works great.

Can you show us an example of 2 of your images - 1 resampled the other not - online.

Generally FW does a pretty fair job of this and I certainly wouldn’t recommend pre-processing all your images in PS (purely for the extra work/work flow time involved) unless you are trying to achieve a particularly high standard and can be sure that your visitors are going to be viewing on a good enough quality monitor for it to make a significant difference.

What default quality settings are you using in FW for your various image types?
