I wish to create an action whereby when a ‘text heading’ or ‘graphic item’ is rolled over, a text box containing information relating to the heading appears. This is instead of having to link to e.g a PDF of the information.

Hi Nathan. Firstly thanks for your feedback. I am very new to web design and particularly Freeway and afraid I need a little more explanation. Is there a tutorial which would show me step by step how do do this? I have looked in the Freeway guide but although it might be there, I can’t seem to find anything.
What I’m unclear about is where does the text box containing the information ‘reside’ when it’s not visible, and how to link the trigger from the button or text heading. Apologies for being ‘thick’!!

It is there but is set to display:hidden so that the browser doesn’t show it until your text is rolled over.
1 - Select the graphic or graphic box that you wish to be the trigger
2 - Apply the action. Item>Actions>Rollover
3 - Draw your layered HTML item and insert your text and or image.
4 - Select the text container (layered HTML item) and apply the action Item>Actions>Target Show/Hide Layer
5 - With this item still selected set the parameters in the Action palette ie Initially:Hidden, Restore:Yes, Effect: (do you want it to fade in?), and leave the Target Group to the default Indigo and Target# 1
6 - Now go back to your Graphic item with the Rollover action on it (select it) and set the Parameters there to match ie whether to activate by Mouseover:Items or Click:Items (or both), Restore:Yes, Preload:Yes, Find Targets:Top, Target Group:Indigo (same as the other action), Target#: 1 (same as the other action).
FANTASTIC - thanks Dave for your help and simple explanation! However I have an additional question I’m afraid!
Can I apply another action to the this sequence, whereby, until the graphic item is hovered over (thus enabling the text item to become visible) an image can sit on the background, which then replaced (disappears) when the text item appears?
If you size your initial image the same as the one that appears on rollover (or smaller) and place it behind then it will be covered by the rollover image when it appears.
Or create another item on the page that you want to be seen initially and use exactly the same action settings on it as you did in 4 and 5 above BUT set it to Initially: Visible
