Is it the case that if I use gif text and want to create rollover states in Freeway 5 Pro - that I have to export and reimport these as graphics.
I updated a site from 3.5 and wasn’t able to get gif text to make rollover on top of other gif text by any means I tried - layered and grouped - unlayered and combined/not combined.
I used to like being able to do this - but if exporting and reimporting as a grahic is the only way to do it now then at least I know the score.

Brian
When you say ‘GIF text’, do you mean text that you highlighted inline and styled as GIF text? If so, yes – but you couldn’t have ever done it any other way.
If you mean ‘Draw a Graphics Box, double-click to enter it, type some text and style it’, then you always have been able to make rollovers out of a stack of like-sized graphic elements, and I don’t believe anything has changed about that. There’s nothing special about a graphics box that has text in it – it’s just a graphic of certain dimensions at the end of the day.
If it’s a layer, then it will have to be grouped with other like-sized graphic layers to comprise the rollover group.
If it’s a non-layered object, then it must be stacked with other non-layered graphic objects that are not set to “Combine Graphics” other than that, it Just Works™.
I wonder if I’ve been in a parallel reality then where it just doesnt.
I’ll have another look.
I had various pairs of gif boxes with only gif text content styled in
Freeway - identical excepting colour. They were working rollovers in 3.5
but nothing I could do would get them to work in FW5Pro so I exported and
reimported as a workaround and let me head calm. It sounds rather sad
doesn’t it!
I did try both options listed below.
Maybe something weird occurred in the upgrade process and I should have
tried making from scratch.
Thank you
as ever
