[Pro] Scripty Fader and FWP 6.0?

I use Scripty Fader with one of my 5.5 websites and it appears that this action doesn’t work in FWP 6.0. Is there a substitute for it?

Not yet. I have to fundamentally rewrite it, as I did Carousel. It’s a bit trickier than Carousel, because all of the elements are removed from the page and then lazy-loaded back in. Carousel I was able to just use JavaScript to do all the work.

Thanks Walter. Is there something else I can use in the meantime?

Carousel 2 is working now, and can wrap around (no whiplash rewind), which was one of the big reasons why Fader came into existence. If you don’t mind the wipe-dissove instead of the fade, you can use that today.

For this particular design the fade works much better. I really don’t need to upgrade that site to FWP 6.0 yet. If you’re going to eventually update the Scripty Fader action I’ll hold off?

On another note, we all know which actions are the most popular. Assuming your actions are not copyrighted, why doesn’t softpress help maintain some of the more popular ones or even package them with FWP? It seems like That would take a lot of pressure off of folks like you and Tim.

They did rewrite the original Carousel for me, the version that’s on ActionsForge right now was re-worked by Simon at Softpress. Carousel2 was my complete re-imagining of what the Action was and how it worked. It’s more the way forward.

It’s nice to know you’re getting help and not having to do everything yourself.
