hey all… I wonder if anyone can help me with this nutty problem. Scrolling layer. I made a few for a website and text inside is perfect, no glitches, but I have this one I am trying to align in the center but it is off by a lot. I have tried many things from creating new action, new page clean and removing styles to clear and redo. Nothing works…
It is only one though, that is acting up, the other scrolling layers are fine. Any solution to this??
Thx

Am I correct that you are trying to centre align the text?
All these have lines of text have style184 applied to them text-align: right;

Reduce the width of the box and make sure that there is no padding on it - either on the box on the page or the scroll layer.

They don’t have to be exactly the same size - as long as the ‘receiving’ box isn’t a lot bigger than the layer box.
At least that worked for me. I was also starting with virgin text. Copied from your site and ‘washed’ in BBEdit

What is BB edit
I should do that too . I am sure that it must be corrupt and that could be the reason… I will do the same if you lead me in the right direction

BBEdit is a text editor but you could use TextEdit instead. Just make sure that you set the Preferences for a new document to be plain text.
Open TextEdit and make a new document. Copy and paste all the collection names from FW and paste into TE
Select all in the FW box and apply no style or Style>Remove Styling
Paste back in your text from TE and apply only the centre align and size (14px) for just now.
Make sure boxes are wide enough to hold a complete line of your text (as wide as the longest) and make sure they are pretty near the same width with no padding on either box.
Try it

Your Div id ‘collectionlist’ to me is not showing to be as wide as the container Div id ‘scroll’
As a result the inner ‘collectionlist’ sits at the left of the wider ‘scroll’
So text centered in ‘collectionlist’ is offset to the left
Do you want to send me the FW file for that page - usual address.

Hi Dave
thanks
that is strange because dimensions on container is 675px wide/152px and content box is 650px wide x
so it is almost as wide

Ok Dave
so I have been trying to figure this thing out and I have now done that. If the boxes are both much bigger than the widest line of text, it throws off the whole scroll
That is it! all that drama with the simplistic answer
thx for your input
