[Pro] Send form action : I don't receive emails

Hello Freeway Talkers,
Everything seems to work with the action except for the fact that I do not receive the mail. It is on line, I filled the form, send it. No error message.
I use the Page action.
My FW version is 6.1.2, so the Action is corrected for French.
PHP safe mode is off. PHP version is 5.3.26.
My ISP (HostPapa) has a pre-configured script already in place for CGI email. Can it be the problem ?
Regards and many thanks in advance,
monique

I use the send form action as well and never have had an issue. I would try try just having it send to your email address without having anything else set and see what happens then

The first things that I see wrong with your form is that you have entries in the Value section of each field.

With a field selected look under the 3rd Tab in the inspector. There should be nothing in the Value field. Text for NOM, PRENOM or ADRESSE COURRIEL should only appear in the Placeholder field.

If you do not receive an email then the first place to look is in the junk mail folder of the receiving Account.

I would also recommend that you build your form within a table structure such as at http://www.deltadesign.co/formtest.html and apply the action to the table.

You can style the table so as to not show the borders etc. as at http://www.deltadesign.co/formtest2.html

Hello again,
Can not make it work.
Nothing in the junk folder.
Built the form within a table structure, applied the action to the
table. NOM, PRENOM and ADRESSE COURRIEL only in the Placeholder field.
Anything else should I try when I’ll get back to working on this problem ?
Meanwhile I 'll be using a simple mailto to collect email addresses instead of a form and the sendform action. A very much less elegant and friendly user’s solution but it works.
Thanks and regards,
m

Can you put the form back up somewhere so we can have another look - doesn’t have to be linked in your menu - just have an url you can share with us.

All he’s asking you to do is make a new page in your document, apply the Action to the page (or the table you set your form in) and create a form for it. You can name this page something cryptic, like asdfsdfsdf.html, and not link it to any other page in your site, and then post a link to just that page on this list. (http://example.com/asdfsdfsdf.html) Then we can look at the generated code, and know quite a bit more than we currently can tell from your description. Another good debugging tool is to locate the handler for that new page in your site folder on your Mac (it will have asdfsdfsdf in its filename), open it in a programmer’s text editor, like the lovely and free TextWrangler from http://barebones.com, copy all of the code from it, and visit https://gist.github.com and create a “Gist” of it. Send us a link to the resulting page, and we can see the PHP code (which is normally hidden by your server) and see another side of the problem.

The first thing I see is that there are no error or success pages set.

But I would like to see the actual form online as well so that I can try it with my own handler script.

The form itself looks fine but some hosting companies have different requirements - your Host is one I am not familiar with.

Another thing to try is to use the sender address as a genuine email address on your site ie contact(a)flat-broke.com
