i am quite new to the freeway pro experience and i have a bit of a problem. Years of using adobe programs have stuck in my head the use of shortcut keys for tool selection. I have searched the help/manual and have yet to find a shortcut key for the “select tool” Is there one? Please??
There isn’t a shortcut to select the select tool as such although you can cycle through the available tools by pressing Command-Control-right (or left) arrow. You can find Freeway’s shortcut keys listed in a PDF by going to Help > Keyboard Shortcuts.
If you want to add your own shortcuts or modify the ones Freeway already provides then take a look at this thread for guidance; http://freewaytalk.net/thread/view/129267

thanks for the reply. i actually tried the “make your own shortcut” - but can’t due to the fact that the selection tool is never mentioned in a menu. Also, when i tried the command-control-right arrow, it cycles though the objects on the page… did i miss something here?
Holding Command at any point will switch to the Select tool. It’s not quite the same as the Adobe behaviour and, unfortunately, you can’t make a shortcut for that, but it’s definitely possible to select things quickly.

My mistake Scott that should have been command-control-tab or control-control-shift-tab to cycle through the tools.
