I have a photos page on a site I am working on and have used the showcase - gallery action to display a few thumbnails. I have opted to show no captions on the thumbnails but on the large images I have set the size to 12px and the colour to black to ensure they will show against a light background. Guess what - the captions are not showing when I preview the site in either Firfox or Safari. What am I missing please?
John, the 12px is not the size of the font but the area height you allotted for the captions. So increase that number and you will see the text appearing below the picture. Most likely the text is underneath your picture…
I’ve increased the caption No. to 99px (100px is the max allowed) and it has produced a nice large area for the captions beneath my pics, but no caption is visible under the large images as I think I have specified.
The site is for our local golf club. Tomorrow I’ll be uploading the site after our AGM this evening. The link is http://www.khseniors.org.uk. Perhaps you would take a look and try to spot what I’m doing wrong. Thanks for your interest.
Hmmm… interesting…
I do see captions under some of the pics: under the small ones as well as the big ones…
Not all pics have captions, but that is probably your choice
I wonder why you don’t see them?! Refreshing your browser?
How can you see the site I’m working on. I haven’t uploaded it yet. There is another version online but I’ve revised it for 2012. You are right. Not all the pics have captions available, but I can’t see any at all.
Could someone please take a look at the photos page on a site I’m working on ( http://www.khseniors.org.uk ) and tell me why the captions are not showing? Not all the pics have captions. You will see the parameters I have set from earlier posts.
Thanks Dave. I compiled another showcase file which contains just one pic and all seems well now. My next job is to add further shots to the file and re-export it to Freeway to see if it updates OK. does FW need to be open at the time of the import?
