[Pro] Showcase js error message

I am getting a javascript error: “fwConvertFilePath has no properties” error message while trying to load a new showcase slideshow. Have other showcase slideshow actions on other pages and they work just fine. Recently I had to load Java 7in order to get onto USPTO government site checking on my patent.

Could this be an issue? The Java 7 is not effecting the other showcase slideshow actions, however. I have recreated the slideshow and gallery a n umber of times and I still get the same message each time.

Any ideas as to why?

There is absolutely no Java in Freeway Actions (or Freeway). I doubt that’s the issue. Can you try a different Showcase slideshow file, and see if that makes any difference? Also just for laughs, you may want to restart your Mac, or try this from a different user account.

Thanks Walter:

I have been able to load in the other showcase slideshows I created for the other pages and they work fine. I will try the next step and restart the Mac. I’ll let you know if it works.

If the other slideshows work, then try exporting the broken one over again. Open up the original file in Showcase, and export it as a new -different name- slideshow. That particular file may be corrupt.

Walt:

Restarted the Mac. Reloaded the slideshow, same javascript error message. Changed the name and exported into FW, same result. Deleted all new Showcase files of this new slideshow. Re created, exported - same result. Deleted new files, recreated again with only four photos, same result. Opened different website and inserted slideshow, same result.

For some reason it doesn’t like any new project I create. When I click on the “Clear Error” tab, here is what I see as to the problem area:

Var path = FwConvertFilePath(fwParameters[“thumb’+i].FwPathName)
,replace(/”/g,escape('#“))
,replace(//g,escape(”"))
,replace(/“/g,escape(”“”)),
thumb=FwPage[fwitem.fwTitle).gallerySettings,thumbFilename[i-1],

Does this help?

All slideshow/galleries that had already been created are able to be inserted and work fine. Sometimes I get the “javascript error”, but when I “clear error” they work and display fine.

Hi David,

The best thing to do would be to send your file into support(a)softpress.com and get them to take a look at what’s happening.

Cheers,

Joe:

Thanks, will do. Will send later as I have to leave for now.

Appreciate the help.

Actually saving the file as an archive (File > Save Archive) may resolve the issue as it will change the paths to the files you are using. I suspect that you have an ‘ilegal’ character of some sort either in a file name or a path to the file that the Action is getting upset about.
Regards,
Tim.

Thank Tim:

Tried that, same results. I have just sent off the files to Support for a closer look.

Hi there,

Is there a solution yet? I’m having the same problem at the moment and don’t know what to do.
