No problems navigating round Showcase or integrating with Freeway (just upgraded from 5.4). However the uploaded slideshow is ‘sticky’ until images are cached. The effect is to have the background, border and caption without the image momentarily.
First attempts also produced misalignments and other odd results. The same (root) image files are used elsewhere in the site without problems.
I tried reducing image quality to 75% in showcase, but this has made little or no difference. I have also tried with and without thumbnails.
We have addressed the caching issue internally so that should be improved in a future update. As for fading between images (as opposed to fading one out and fading another in), the problem is handling the effect when going from portrait to landscape or vice versa. If we can find an elegant way to deal with that then we have no problem adding such a feature.

Matte all the images to square with background-colored wings, either
on the sides or top and bottom, depending on the aspect. Then you can
make them fit no matter what.

Hi Joe
Thank you. I will look forward to the update and try something else in the meantime.
Fades: Fading in and out (through white or background colour etc) is OK for me, it is the ‘snappy’ effect I’m not mad about. I seem to remember seeing here in the forum that it is not possible to adjust this?
Thinking about dissolves - I don’t think it matters aesthetically when fading between landscape and portrait.
Thanks again.
