[Pro] Simple Site Search not displaying results

I have added the Simple Site Search action to the search field and the Submit value to a magnifying glass.
I made a new page for the results to display in and the action box that displays the search results (changed colors, results per page etc( and added Simple Site Search action to the folder.
When I preview thought nothing displays in the space where the results should appear.
Any thoughts?

For the bare minimum for this to work you need 3 things

Page>Folder Actions>Simple Site Search - applied to your Site Folder

Item>Actions>Simple Site Search - applied to a text field.

Use Insert>Action Item>Simple Site Search - to display your results.

Do steps 2 and 3 on a new blank page first of all to make sure it is working.

A submit button isn’t actually necessary but may be useful.

Upload and test.

Thank you DeltaDave and DTP2 for your help but I’m still not getting anywhere…
I think I have followed the steps and in the page I’ve created for the results to show although they do (the action default that I can then modify, link color, font etc) while in Freeway when I try searching for something I’m taken to the correct page but no search results appear.
Is there a conflict with some other action I should be looking out for? Something else I’m missing?

Try having the results box on the same otherwise blank page as the search field but with no Submit button/icon

So only 2 items on the page

Ok thanks to you both :slight_smile: got it to work… there seems to be some conflict with another html item on my page… When I had it as “Search Results” (two words) then the results wouldn’t show… after a lot of frustration I figured that by only writing “Results” instead, the results would show… maybe that is obvious to others but it had me banging my head.

FW will not give any item on your page an ID that contains a space character - unless you add it using the extended attributes.

Strange one!
