I have tried several time to install the following steps in order to get the ‘simple site search’ working in FWPro 6:
1 - add the Simple Site Search as a Folder action to the site folder
2 - select a form search field and then Item>Actions>Simple Site Search
3 - on a page in your site Insert>Action>Simple Site Search (creates an HTML box to display results)
After having these stamps don I tried the site search on the live site. It worked once. after doing a next site search nothing happened, no response at all.
Simple Site Search is a very useful Action, for static sites of a certain size. It’s definitely not Google, but it can provide a touch of polish to the user experience, at little or no cost (of your time). I recommend that you look at my Simple Site Search Helper Action, at ActionsForge. Follow the directions carefully, and see if that cleans up your issue with the multiple forms. What it does is keep the Simple Site Search from “hijacking” your page form or being hijacked by another form. Instead of using a full form submission, it uses a JavaScript location redirect to send your users’ search request to the search handler page. This keeps the forms from conflicting.

This gets complicated I see.
Wondering if the "site search action’ really adds functionality
