[Pro] Site critique

I’ve been trying to pare down my CSS styles and use them correctly on a site I’m redesigning.

If any kind and thorough souls would look at the pages associated with http://luckypro.biz/client/walter/v5/index.html I’d be ever grateful. It ought to be finished posting at about 5:30 Eastern US time.

Great work from the stance of showcasing the work.

Everything else is easily navigate-able, however I wish the Prev and Next buttons were more of a focal point rather than off to the side. As the designer you know that there is more than one photo for each section, but at first glance as a user I thought there was only one until I saw the buttons in the bottom right.

I’d also consider using just regular HTML text for the navigation list rather than using Graphic text. You could easily utilize the CSS menu action here to accomplish the same effect.

Thanks, Dan. Kind of you to look in.

I saw the same problem with the Carousel Buttons. I’m moved them to the bottom left, under the Tabs List, and am trying to make them Rollovers as well. (See separate thread to come about that.)

I’m conflicted about the CSS Menu Action. I’d like to have the menu in Frutiger. Not that many people would notice, but you know we designers. I also don’t like the way menus get broken up when I increase text size. As you can see, I’m trying to hold down the width of the menu to accommodate large images. A few of the menu items are just about as wide as the menu, and would be good candidates for overflowing their spaces.

So I don’t know. Given that for this site there will only ever be one menu set up on one master page, and that it’s dead easy to create the graphic text items with Illustrator slices --they’re all already made-- what’s the actual advantage to using the Menu Action?

I’d be happy to get your or anyone’s thoughts on the utility of the Action.
