There are actions to help you with this

1 - Site Mapper File Location. Apply as a Page action to a page of your site

2 - Site Mapper. A Folder action applied to your site folder.

But read the KnowledgeBase article at http://www.softpress.com/kb/questions/144/Google+Sitemaps

It does but I would still do it using your Webmaster account as well.

Hi Howard

I use this link to create my site map http://www.xml-sitemaps.com/

I download the sitemap.xml file and then upload it to the location where my home page resides. I do this using Fetch but you could equally use the Upload Stuff action, apply it to your home page and select the file to be loaded to HTML location.

Assuming you are already registered with Google Webmaster Tools you then go to https://www.google.com/webmasters/ where you sign in and select the website by clicking on its name. Then click on Sitemaps and your sitemap.xml file should be listed. I then opt to resubmit it just to make sure.

If you aren’t registered with Google Webmaster Tools you will have to create an account and add your website. Google will then give you several different ways to prove you are the owner of the website. I go with the option to download a file from Google and upload it to my webspace.

All the best

Is fetch better to use than filezilla? Did you do the freeway sitemap and the .xml file also?

Pretty sure I did it right. Can you look : www.hgrantdesigns.com/sitemap.xml

Looks OK

But because you are on a SEO kick I suggest that you look at your file names.

Here are some of yours

about-hgrantdesi.html

services-hgrantd.html

clients-hgrantde.html

contact-hgrantde.html

oldwebsites-hgra.html

You really should use the file names to best advantage ie

about-hgrantdesi.html would become about-hgrantdesigns.html

similarly clients-hgrantde.html would become

clients-of-hgrantdesigns.html

etc.

I am in process of redoing my site so file changes have been named like this : about.html
index.html and so forth. I did it the old way because the title of page i wanted up top, but i figured it out afterwards how i could change it
