Hi
We have thumbnails that activate slave images when you hover over them on every page of our website’s blog.
We recently installed the ‘AddThis’ sharing feature on our Freeway site, but since doing so the slave images are no longer displaying in Firefox. They are still working in other browsers and resume working in Firefox if we remove the AddThis feature from the page.
I’d be really grateful for any advice that might help us resolve the problem so we can keep AddThis active on our pages.
Hi Jenny,
This is happening because the AddThis code adds it’s own iFrame into your page which, without boring you with the technical details, upsets the Rollover Action and it’s ability to find your target (previously called slave) items.
There are two possible solutions;
The issue has been addressed in the latest version of the Rollover Action that ships with Freeway 5.5 so if you were planning on upgrading then the issue would be addressed in the update
or even easier;
Change the ‘Find targets’ setting in the rollover from ‘top’ to ‘this’. This will tell the rollover code only to look in the current page/frame for items to swap and will ignore all of the iFrames (including the AddThis one) on your page.
Change the setting and republish and you should see the target images (slave images) working again in Firefox.
Regards,
Tim.
