Is anyone around for some asistance with SSP 1.3.1 plug in for Lightroom 2 and FW 5? I’m building my company website, and I need to insert a slide show (actually one for every project presented on the site). After reading around in freeway talk, I thought that I would go with the SSP plugin for Lightroom, but after reading a few threads I can’t get this thing working. Keep in mind that I no previous experience, so I need to be walked through it. My original design Idea had the user clicking on a thumbnail and having the slide show show up. Is it better to go with the gallery if im going to have multiple albums? I would rather not. Also, what is this flash plugin that has been talked about and how do I get it? Do I need it? I’ve created the album in Lightroom and exported it, so no problem there. Then I tried drawing a html box, importing the loader.swf, selecting flash extras, selecting upload extra sources and using the pull down menus to load the extra files. Which files are they? tried various listed in thread and I can only get a black box when tested. Any help would be greatly appreciated, I really tried to do it with the info in the thread.
Also, should CSS Layout be on while I do all this?
Thanks in advance for any help.

First the “flash plugin” that people write about is a Flash Component flavor of SSP. Right now SlideShowPro comes in 3 flavors which are the Lightroom Plugin you use and then the standalone version for people without Lightroom or Flash and then an Extension / Component for people who have Flash already. If you have the Lightroom Plugin you already have the actual SSP part and are not required to have anything else.
I’d recommend going with a gallery of multiple albums if they all relate to each other. You could create separate pages for each individual gallery and to do that I’m looking into tackling later this evening as I had received quite a few e-mails on the topic.
As far as what files you will need…it looks like you’ll need to import the Loader.swf file into an HTML item in Freeway and then attach the images.xml, param.xml, and slideshowpro.swf file to the HTML location of your website folder. Again, I will tackle this tonight but for right now that’s how it used to be when I used back around 1.1. I will redownload it and get back to you.
Also, it doesn’t matter if the blue button (CSS Layout) is on or not.
Thanks a bunch for all that, it worked out very well. The key was the size of the HTML window…it was too small in my case.
I even had to make it larger than the size shown in Lightroom, because it was cropping the title at the top and the buttons thumbnails at the bottom…I just played around with it a bit.
Thanks once more, you do beautifully explanatory tutorials.
I am just now following your very organized directions to upload a SSP to my site, and I really think I have followed your directions accurately, but all I am getting is a gray square the size of the slide show. I have looked at my site with Firefox and Safari and the results are the same except in Firefox, at the bottom of the screen it says “Read xxx.slideshowpro.com” (x’s are my account). The first time I tried it said “Transferring data from xxx.slideshowpro.com” and it said that for over 30 minutes until I gave up and shut down. If it helps to see it: gloriousgardensinc.com/gallery4.html
I did have that file attached. Let me interject one more variable and see if I am following the wrong path. I am also using SlideShow Pro Director. I know I am supposed to direct my slide show to their address and now realize that your directions probably aren’t for that?
I have posted my problem on the SlideShow forum but since they have never heard of Freeway I was hoping to resolve the problem here since you are so you all are so thorough on your directions. I have backtracked and removed my one slide show and files so that I can start fresh in Freeway. Thanks
