[Pro] Slideshow PRO Lightroom

I am a complete novice at FW and bought it so that I could develop a site without learning code. I bought SSP for Lightroom and SSP Director and now I am trying to get all of these to put a simple album on to my web site. I have Lightroom and Director working together and have an album exported to my desktop. I have the Lightroom to Director Plug In and have gone as far as I can. I can’t get through all the jargon on the forums and even in the instructions to get any further. I did not see any threads here about SSP for this year and want the latest info possible. That is why I am posting. Can anyone explain how to take the slide show and “embed the SWF” onto my html? I don’t have a clue what is being directed here. I upload my web through Freeway but I know how to upload with my FTP program, I just don’t know what folder and files go where and I can copy code although I am on a MAC and don’t have Notebook or any coding software that I know of. I know about the loader.swf but don’t seen any Import option to do this…Help, please!

You got it:

http://home.comcast.net/~fwtuts/lightroom_single/

or if you want to combine several single albums to a giant album, you’d go here:

http://home.comcast.net/~fwtuts/lightroom_albums/

Thank you so much. I haven’t tried it yet but it is so orderly and detailed. Excellent.

Getting closer! I have followed your directions but don’t have a slide show yet. I have a black bordered white box with no image or thumbnails. Now, I think this has to do with my using SSP Director? The last 5 steps of their outline: Export slideshow, Delete album1 (space saving), Delete images.xml (not needed), Upload the slideshow folder to website (doesn’t say but I put in Site Folder), Browse to ‘index.html’ I uploaded & make sure everything works? Thought I would ask you first but understand if I am supposed to get info from SSP. Thanks.

Upload the slideshow folder to website (doesn’t say but I put in Site Folder),

If you have placed these files in the Site Folder on your mac then FW doesn’t know what to do with them and they wont be uploaded to the server.

You can either FTP them to the server (usually at the same level as the album’s index.html file) or use an action like Upload Stuff to do the same job.

It is not a good idea to muck about with the `FW created’ Site folder contents - don’t add, remove or reference any files in there unless you KNOW what you are doing. FW manages that Site folder for you and if you interfere it will screw things up!

You can post a test page so we can decipher what’s going on if it isn’t loading.

To do so you’d create just a test folder on your server and then drop the goods in there and post the link.

But I have a feeling you figured it out already.

Your tutorial pages are so neat and informative, and I’ve followed the instruction with ease and produced good result with a single SSP album containing photos.

However, I’ve another album with SSP holding flash movies. I followed the instruction but was only able to produce still image and not flash movie in FW page.

Any further thing to do for integrating SSP with flash movies into FW. Many thanks.

I believe that you have to actually put the video files on an actual server for those to run. I know I’ve never been able to run them locally, but yet I’ve been able to show photos just fine.
