[Pro] stack of images/layers - use each as link?

In a stack of images with the target show/hide layer action applied to each, can each image not serve as a link?

http://www.oldsmokey.com/catalogrevise.html

The initial picture has no action applied. The other images appear when the text is rolled over. Each image is initially hidden and has “restore sticky.” I would like the user to be able to click on each image to get to a separate page for that product, so I applied a link to each image.

The links do not work, however, when the images appear. The user cannot click on the image to get to more info about the product.

I have tried both the target show/hide image and layer action, still nothing.

This should be straightforward - see my example http://www.deltadesign.co/examples/show-hide-link.html

How are you applying your link and to which item.

Mine are applied to the images themselves in a layer which contains the image and a text box.

thanks. I applied the link to the image. I don’t have a separate layer as you do. The rollover targets 2 separate items - the image and its corresponding text box. But the link is just on the image.

When I temporarily bring the image forward, the link will work. But when I put it back in the stack the link doesn’t work.

Draw an HTML container (layer) for both your image and the text box and apply Show/hide layer to it.

Then over the top of that draw an image box and a text box - they will then become children of the container.

Add your image and text content and set your action parameters.

Duplicate the container as many times as you have different content and add the different content to each. Change target #

Select all and align horizontally and vertically.

Done!

marvelous. Works great.

Make a layer first. Apply action to that. Once the layer is showing, the image will show and the link on the image can operate. It always makes perfect sense once it works.
