I’ve watched the Scriptaculous slide show video tutorial several times, and have I think replicated the steps exactly (also reviewing carefully the FW5.5 manual) but can’t achieve a simple cross fade, 4-image looping slideshow as illustrated in the video. The first 2 images appear, one only briefly, not for the same period despite having all 4 images having the same timing set in the actions window, per instructions (the page action is also set as instructed). In the link, you’ll see 2 of 4 images (and possibly a brief view of a wider 3rd image) but it goes black rather than looping back to the beginning (skipping the last 2 images so it seems) with a considerable delay in replay.
The image action window is set for each image like this:
Hidden/Sticky/Fade/.5/Indigo/(Target# 1 - 4)
The page action window is set:
1000/Yes/On Page Load/Indigo/top/(Targets 1 - 4 “on”)
Updated FW Pro to 5.6.5 the other day. Mac OS 10.6.8.
I gave up on this and spent a day trying an exported Quicktime movie (worked well, but not so much for my Windows friends); studied GIFs a bit but learned that wasn’t optimum for this purpose; tried some of the “Scripty” actions but had trouble there (probably my own inexperience); looked at Carousel but don’t like the sliding images (I’d like a cross fade) so am back to Scriptaculous if I could make it perform. Went through all steps again just now but am stuck.
I’m fairly new to FW (and am no expert on CSS, web design, or FW’s more complex features) but have built other pages with “actions” and few/no problems. Thanks for any suggestions…
